Public Beach Access Duck NC

While it is important to note that Duck NC doesn’t have any public beach access, there are numerous private neighborhood locations where you can access the beach easily. Duck is a quaint town with long boardwalks along the sound and walking trail.

Duck Beach Guidelines

Before you go to the beach in Duck NC, keep the following guidelines in mind.

• Access to the beach is limited to Duck residents, renters and guests of privately owned locations only
• No parking along state roads
• No public parking areas at beach accesses
• Vehicles are NOT permitted on the beach between May 1st and September 30th
• No tents over 12’ x 12’. Tents must be placed 10’ apart and cannot be tied together
• Pets may be unleashed, but must be supervised
• Do not walk on the dunes. Utilize the designated dune crossovers
• Motorized watercraft can be used in the Currituck Sound between 9 AM to 6 PM
• If red flags are flying on the beach, do not go into the water
