While it is important to note that Duck NC doesn’t have any public beach access, there are numerous private neighborhood locations where you can access the beach easily. Duck is a quaint town with long boardwalks along the sound and walking trail.

Duck Beach Guidelines
Before you go to the beach in Duck NC, keep the following guidelines in mind.
- Access to the beach is limited to Duck residents, renters and guests of privately owned locations only
- No parking along state roads
- No public parking areas at beach accesses
- Vehicles are NOT permitted on the beach between May 1st and September 30th
- No tents over 12’ x 12’. Tents must be placed 10’ apart and cannot be tied together
- Pets may be unleashed, but must be supervised
- Do not walk on the dunes. Utilize the designated dune crossovers
- Motorized watercraft can be used in the Currituck Sound between 9 AM to 6 PM
- If red flags are flying on the beach, do not go into the water
